Speedometer calibration?

ok I just recently bought a Kirban speedometer overlay that goes to 145, it also came with like a gear/wheel thing, where does this piece actually go, I know its in the trans somewhere but there arent any directions so I am kind of lost???

but wait since your reading this, I have a bonus question for you
I have one of the ashtray switch plates, I know how dumb I am going to look after asking this since I studied electronics in highschool and currently have some in college, but the switches that have led lights with them, how do I wire it so the led light comes on when I flip the switch

the back of each switch has two prongs, obviously for neg and pos, and the back of the leds have one pos wire and one neg wire
so how do I incorporate the led to the switch?

I think i'll take a shot at this question. First of all the gear thing goes in the trans. Follow the speedometer cable unbolt cable and bracket and replace the gear. Now on the switch question you need to run the pos. wire to your fuse box. It should have a bat terminal.
