I replaced the powermaster on my 87GN. with a vacuum booster and master cylinder from a 87 Monte SS. Always had a spongy, low brake peddle last few years. Got everything replaced and bled the system twice but still had a spongy low pedal. Finally replaced the 27 year old brake hoses, front and rear and now I have a high and firm peddle. Read on the internet that the life of brake hoses is about 10 years. They collapse on the inside.
