Here's a quick shot of mine breaking in a new set of skins.
I don't know how these things got such a bad rap for being slow. The 1971 and older were slow because they had a small engine compartment and could only fit a bug motor. 1972 and up came factory with a big pancake style engine with dual carbs. Almost any Porsche 911 motor would bolt right up, with room for turbos, if needed. With the engine over the drive wheels, they put the HP to the ground like nothing else. I think that alot of people drive them slow to sucker in Mustangs, Cameros, and Vetts, and make some money. I know I have. Let me tell you. Theres nothing WORSE than getting your pride and joy, muscle car taken behind the wood shed by a old VW camper Bus
.
Happy spooling...

72 Camper Bus: Ray Stevens built stroker pancake, Dual Webers, forged crank, H-beam rods, gas ported JE pistons, Warsteiner racing heads, BG fuel pump, MSD modded stock dist, AFT clutch, line lock, carbon fiber axels. Bla Bla Bla...
