That guy has the numbers to win.

Heads/cam/Long tubes in a G8 will pretty much kill an SRT8, but stock, the G8 is slower.

A stock G8 is actually slower than stock Cobalt SS in a 1/2 mile drag race.

A G8 will definitely be cheaper to buy and build than a challenger. Even a Vette would probably be cheaper on an ET to ET comparison.

There's a twin turbo G8 out there now that runs 11 flat@130 with only a catback and the tt kit at 14lbs. Already seen used 08s for just over 20k, by spring they'll be about 18k. Pretty cheap for a well made big rwd V8 car. The mods for them are coming in droves too.

Hennesy has Twin Turbo SRT8's in the 10's at over 130 mph, but they are likely $20K more than what a TT G8 would cost.

a couple of weeks ago a srt 8 challenger ran at my local dragstrip eigth mile it went a 8.72 at 83 mph taking off good and a new skyline went 7.38 at 97 mph
