SS camaro RPO CODE

Hi, I was curious how can you tell a true ss from a regular z28? It's probably in the rpo codes! I would really appreciate any help because im buying a 2000 ss camaro! thanks turbo brothers L. Gentry

I'm not exactly sure of the RPO for an SS, but...... Z28 is an actual RPO code.

Its times like this I wish compnine.com didnt get shut down. They would have been able to tell you. I ran my 95 z28 through there and found it was a 1 of 1 optioned car. Is anybody aware of a similar site? Not to hijack, but anyone know what happened to compnine.com?

Call SLP and give the vin # they should be able to tell you if it's a true SS and they can also give you the build #.

wu8 is the rpo for the ss its on the drivers door tag.
It also should have the tire size paper tags just below the rpo tag, all ss's came with the 17 inch wheels + tires.
you can also get the vin + go to a dealership + they will give you a complete build on the car,which will not only tell you if it is an ss,but will give you all the options it came with instead of going thru each rpo code.
If it's an automatic it should also have the gu5 code which is for the perf axle/323 gears which were standard on the ss.
