Does anyone have any tips on how to set my 1-2 shift at 6,000rpm with a Stageright Transbrake. Car likes to shift at 5,500 itself 1-2 and then I manually shift at 6,000 2-3. I know what the shift rpm is from my FAST records.

He didn't say what RPM it shifted the 2-3 @ if he let it shift by itself.

But that will throw the other shiftpoints off.
Exactly right. Never remove material from the governor weights. If you want to change the shift points by modifying the governor, put a weaker or stronger spring in the small weight. This modification will lower or raise part throttle as well as full throttle shift points. If you like your part throttle shift points, leave the governor alone. There should never be a need to modify the governor. The way to raise your full throttle shift points without affecting your part throttle shift points is to put a stronger spring in the T.V. limit valve. I use a kitchen scale and press the spring down an the scale to the same height as it would be in the valve body. Find another spring that when pressed to the same height adds 2 or 3 more ounces of pressure to the scale. This will be a good starting point to help you figure out how much spring pressure you will need.

removing weight from the primary side wil change only the wot shifts .with full tv being constant at wot the governor upshift force oil at the shift valve will need additional driveshaft rpm to force an upshift.the 7/8 throttle upshift with this mod will not change either or be so slight that it will not be noticable except with a data logger.now if the 1/2 must be raised 500 to be at 6000 rpms ,but the the 2/3 is good at 6000 you can remove weight from the governer and install a stiffer 2/3 shift spring or install a heavier 1/2 shift spring at not change governer weight or 2/3 spring.either way itll take locating some parts and examining what you have already so you know what to do.get our 200 page manual if you want additional information on the mods and circuit diagrams.tv upshift spring mods are not recommended as they can cause more harm than good if you dont understand the circuitry.

Changing TV limit press. will affect all shifts up & down, will also change the kickdown shifts.

I agree with Chris. For example, some have modified the TV feed circuit on the 700 (very similar to the 200-4R), and then started having the TV valve start buzzing! Not good for stable line pressure.

If it's just one shift point you want to raise do like Chris said & work on just that shift spring.

What rpm does it auto 2-3 shift at?

too much tv downshift pressure resulting from over 90 psi being fed to the plunger and exiting out of it to the tv down circuit when governer is low can cause a 4/2 kickdown at wot resulting in engine overspeeding.this mod must be done with caution as to not result in an overactive tv downshift circuit or upshift circuit for that matter.studying the hydraulic tables allows us to be better equipt to do this mod.

Thanks for the replies. When in drive car will shift at 5,800 rpm at WOT for 2-3. Tune may be off a little down low. I adjusted the fuel and was able to get a 1-2 shift at 5,750rpm. The nonWOT shifts are fine at 3,000 rpm with a 3,200 stall.
