Greetz People,

What does the D6 stamped around the TQ converter mean ? Is that the stall speed ?

I have two 200-4R TQ converters. I'm trying to decide which one to have rinsed. If I insert an input shaft and twist... one takes two hands to twist. The other is easier.

The tranny shop said to use the one that is easier to twist.

Do they know what they are talking about?

MTIA,

D.

The D6 doesn't tell you anything about the t/c nor does turning it with the inputshaft, so I would say they don't know what there talking about. Unless you have personal prior knowlege of the 2 t/c's your guess is as good as anybodies on which would be the better. Best thing would be to have them gone thru and let them rebuild the better one.

<sigh>

If they didn't even know the above... I don't know if I would trust 'em rebuilding one form two.

One came from a running tranny (the one hard to twist).

The other came from a toasted tranny - I think the band retaining pin got cocked in its bore.

I guess I use the former. The one they did not recommend.

Grmbl

They couldn't even supply me with M10-1.5 15mm metric bolts (see my other post) Flexplate to torque converter.

They told me to order the bolts from the OEM in the States !!! And this is a tranny shop ?!?!?!?

I guess I will use the one they didn't recommend (tougher to twist) since at least IT came out of a working tranny.

What do you think ?
