Hey guys im having a similar problem to what someone else posted here a few days ago. First of all, sometimes when i start the car, it backfires right through the turbo while its spinning over. what causes this? Also when the car is warm, it doesn't wanna start. I have to try it 2 or 3 times and the it fires, and runs like total and utter crap. And sometimes upon startup, it'll fire then she stalls. And i gotta fire it again then she goes. Closed loop, runs excellent. when warm, its absoulity horrible. If i floor it off the line, the motor doesn't even rev up for like 2 seconds. It either stalls, or falls on its face when in closed loop. ive done all the usual things. changed mafs, ecm's, adjusted tps, no difference. it only runs well when its extremely cold outside. any ideas?

First--when it's cold, you're in open loop, it goes to closed loop when it's warm (closed loop basically means the ECM uses the 02 sensor)

Second-check your cam sensor setting, I'd *almost* be willing to bet this is your problem! Been there done that, same exact problems your talking about! Happened to me right after I changed my timing chain & gears...drove it for 2 weeks like that, until one day it refused to start after I stopped for gas (warmed up)...I walked home, got my tools, loosened the sensor cap & turned it a tad, and bingo...all better!

Yes, the only time I've ever had my car backfire though the intake was when I put a new timing chain in and had the cam sensor 180 degrees out. If this doesn't appear to be your problem after further inspection I would look at the actual differenses between closed and open loop. Decide what appears to be different and aplicable and go from there.
