I am really getting frustrated with this car......
The car starts when cold, after a quick 10 minutes trip the car will not start. Everything comes on, lights, fuel pump, ect. But no click or anything from the starter. The starter has been out and rebuilt twice. After the car cools down after 2 hours, it starts right back up. I bought a brand new not rebuilt starter from Advanced Auto, installed it and was going to see if it was the starter, the dam starter does not line up, and will not turn over the car, just grinds the flywheel. Going to take it out and back tomorrow. Is it possible that the fusable links by the starter could be my problem and not the starter? Before I go and buy a hi performance starter from somewhere, I want to be sure that my problem is the starter. Any help is appreciated! I just want to be able to drive this thing somewhere and be able to get back home!

How are your ground connections and cables? Have you tried a new battery or had it tested?

Re did all the gounds, it is a new engine, but I did recheck and re do all the grounds, new battery.

+2 on checking the cables for continuity. Heat causes metal to expand and could be losing contact at a weak point internally and not visible.

Solved!

Well took back the brand new starter to Advanced and got a $45 remanufactured one, installed it, and everything seems to be fine now. Took the car for a 15 minute drive, got it nice and hot, pulled back on the lift, shut it off, and started right back up!

Thanks to all for your input! Cant believe a $45 reman fixed my problems!
