Santa brought me new carpet for my 86, so I removed the old and found this!

Are the floor pans of a 27 year old GN supposed to look like this? ;)

I mean, like, no rust! ;)

You're not complaining, are you? :p

No not at all. I was pleasantly surprised at how pristine it all is. But it's a one owner, so maybe it's expected.

Where'd you get the new carpet? I bought a replacement for an el camino a few years ago and it didn't fit very well.

Yeah well I removed the back seat on the WH1 POS I bought and found this.
So top that!
But that was the amount of money they had spent over the years for maintenance I think. :D

Dave - your floor pans are not supposed to look like that at all. I suggest getting the car to a good body shop ASAP if you would like to
finish the project by spring!

Santa brought it, but if I had to guess, I think it came from Highway Stars.

Got the new carpet in place but not trimmed or cut. Waiting for my interior guru and good friend (ScotW, GNS Performance) to come over and give me a hand with fitting and trimming.

Drill some holes all over and accidentally drop 10 pounds of salt and metal shavings before you put carpet down all the way and make everyone else feel better.

Ordered from Highway Stars, drop shipped from ACC.

OK, finally got the carpet all in and trimmed up and interior back together. Thanks very much to advice from my Son-In-Law John (GNX405) who's done a couple of these. And a big thanks also goes out to ScotW (GNS Performance) for the advice. I also prevailed upon him to do virtually all the cutting and trimming since he has decades of experience as a professional interior guy. Thanks Guys!!!

Also removed that ugly A pillar gauge pod and tack and replaced it with a nice refurbed stock unit. The big tach goes away, the EGT gauge goes away, and the vac/boost gauge will replace the volt meter in the 3 gauge pod on top the radio.
