I`m a little bit stupid. Help me out here. Are you talking about the piece that the license plate bolts to and you pull it down to access fuel cap?
If so, I have one that is good. It came off 1984 Turbo Regal.
$12 shipped.

Another note:
I have a friend who races stock cars. He has literally dozens of `78 and up Regals, Monte Carlos, Cutlasses and Grand Prixs. If this part is the same for all these years, I can get my hands on plenty of them.

Sent you an PM..

Stay down doors DID NOT COME ON G BODIES!!!

They come on 3rd Gen Camaro's and later model Caprice's....

Stay down license plate holders

Comes on '80's Caprices and similar model lines of GM vehicles. Happy hunting at any salvage yard - -. Gary L.

OK, so what do you call the spring-loaded license plate holder on a G-Body? And what is different from the ones on Caprices?
What is the going rate for these and EXACTLY what years / models of vehicles do you get them from?
If there is a market for these, I can get some.

You just anwsered your question, its a license plate holder that just happens to be the fuel door as well.

The ones on Caprices stay in the down position.Do a search and youll find the anwser to your question.

So what are you saying? The ones on G Bodies are hinged at bottom and the F Bodies and big cars are hinged at top?
Is that the difference?

The difference is the stock gn plate holder will not stay in the down position by itself. The 3rd gen camaro plate holders look exactly like the gn one but have an additional spring that will hold it down so you can fill your tank without holding the plate holder down yourself. I get mine at pick n pull yards when they have a half off sale. I personally pulled one from a caprice and it looks different and the mounting holes are 1/2 inch narrower and wont bolt up unless you elongate the holes or bend the bracket. Just go to a junk yard and pull one from a 82-92 camaro and pay the 5 bucks.

OK. Great !
You have answered my questions. Now I know exactly what you`re talking about. I remember now, I`ve owned about a dozen F-Bodies over the years.
So...my answer is still the same. I can supply plenty of these for $12 shipped.

if you got one in perfect cond. ie.. no rust bends or cracks i will take one. paypal?
