steel shim torque specs

What are the torque spect for the shim gasket with arp studs.

Walt, I take them to 80 ft-lbs. Have always re-torqued them, usually more than once.

on the re-torque, do you loosen the nuts then retorque, or just retorque? (assuming studs)

Studs or bolts, I loosen about 1/8 turn then tighten to spec.
