I thought if you were a pro athlete you couldnt drive a motorcycle, ATV, or anyother recreational vehicle besides a car? No offense but thats just dumb to do it anyway. To take a chance like that....Sorry to hear about it.

Jason

It was dumb. He wasn't wearing a helmet and put his face in to the windsheild of the car he hit. Its not in their contracts about the motorcycle or anything else. Terry Bradshaw warned him that this would happen, but Ben made a big joke out of this last year. Doesn't look good for another Superbowl win! :(

So far all they are saying is he has a broken jaw and missing teeth. They sent him in to surgery. Maybe has something up with his knees now, still waiting for info. Have you seen pics of the accident yet?

Broken jaw, missing teeth, facial damage.Bradshaw tried to warn him lst season about this.Im surprised the Rooneys didnt have something in his contract about this. But I guess you really cant or if this was even under the unsafe contract items. This happened at one of pittsburghs finest intersections. Why was he riding rice?

With these big inch ricers it doesnt take much distance to really be moving. That bike was totaled.I feel sorry for the guy,out enjoying your morning and bam your season may be over,or career.Auto vs bike-the car always wins.

No pics here but bikes front end has only bars intact.Of course fairing damage to sides.Looks as if front wheel of bike was planted just behind drivers front r/h wheel.Head to r/h lwr side of windshield.Body then over car, ending up along side road on sewer grate.

to bad

I really like the way he played in the past. hope he comes back from this.

I was watching part of this story on NFL Network this evening. Although doubtful, the contract says they can take back $400k of the signing bonus, and $5.9 million for missing training camp. What shocked me the most is when they started listing who has already left, Joey Porter on the verge, and BILL COWHER IS THINKING ABOUT RETIRING!
They were speculating that Charlie Batch would fill in. Tommy Maddox's agent has contacted the Steelers about coming back (but they haven't responsed, and I sure hope it stays that way). They also mentioned something about a 5th round QB from Bowling Green.
Sure hope Ben's ok. With all the staff changes, it's going to be a tough year.

The Colts are redesigning their facemasks to resemble Chrysler grilles. Then next year Ben won't be tempted to reach out and grab one of us as we're running by him.

Dont be upset, the Colts can try again this year. We had alot of BS calls last year and still made it to the Superbowl to win.

He was such a safe rider that he never got his mc license. In this state that means you will wear a helmet,no passengers and maybe no late evening rides.News today sounds more hopeful,he may require another doctors visit to remove Mr Rooneys foot from his behind.

Hyabusa rumor..Food for thought..

A friend of mine had told me that after the first month of sales on the first GSXR1300 Hyabusas there were a handful of fatality accidents all on the west coast. Those bikes are crazy fast, bonafide high 9 second machines right off the showroom floor with a decent rider. I was really shocked to see he was on a Busa, I had him pegged as a Harley guy! I think at his height the Busa just isnt a good fit for him. By the way did u PA guys know that Ben was on a Chicago sports radio show about an hour before his accident. Thats not a big deal unless U knew this shows history with athletes and celebrities, and bad things happening to them right after being on. I know former Chicago Bulls Guard Jay Williams wrecked his bike after being on the show and 3 comedians died after being on the show  . Im sure its coincidence but man that compares to the Sports Illustrated Jinx. The station is The Score WSCR 670 AM.

He does own a harley, plus many other cars etc. These guys are always on a mission, practices, meetings, commericals, promos, charity things and so on.Finally gets some free time, yanks helmet off and goes for a spin to unwind. They keep making it a helmet thing. It was an accident! If he wouldve taken 20 secs and put it on,he never wouldve been in that intersection to get hit.A biker is going to come up short everytime.Would everyone make such a big deal out of this if he was in a car accident and not wearing a seatbelt?
