I am looking for a part that goes on the end of the steering shaft. It has a couple of #'s on it, they are 25941 and 7826600. I've tried a couple a auto parts stores around here and they didn't have it. It is some rubber part. The parts place said it holds the grease for the steering knuckle or something like that. Does anyone know where I could possibly get one, mine is shot. Thanks:confused:

Kinda ambiguous mayne,
Do you mean the coupling , (rag Joint)? If so, I know they are real fun to rebuild. But this often overlooked part makes an old car drive amazingly well. Can get the rubber disc to rebuild it from AZ under Help products. hth

Are you talking about the rubber boot at the top of the lower half of the steering shaft? or the part that connects it to the steering gear?

It sounds like you are talking about the knuckle at the top of the intermediate shaft not the rubber disc.

Yes, I am talking about the rubber boot at the top of the lower half of the steering shaft? Do you know where I can get it. Auto Zone does not have them. THX

I could never find the part as I had the same problem. I even went to Gm and had to order the whole shaft as they said you could not buy just the boot. When it came in the shaft did not matchup w/ my steering column shaft. They even ordered it again just to make sure. Seems like GM has the wrong part. (unless my steering column has been changed without me being able to tell)
Anyway I wound up going to a salvage yard and found one in very good condition for 20.00.

Thanks for the info. I was going to go to the dealership, but maybe that's a waste of time. Appreciate your help.
