I have to ask has any one here ever had their steering column lock up on them?
I looked in the how to section, and the first time buick owners section, ( I am not new to the gn, I've had one
for the last 10 years. I really need to find out if this is a possibility. I have never had it happen to me, but I would like some feed back. thanks in advance guys.

I have never heard of this happening. The only way I can think of it happening is if someone removed the plastic cover over the rag joint and a rock gets caught between it and the frame. Never heard of a steering box locking up or the locking pin in the steering column malfunctioning locking the wheel. Why the question?

my buick has been in a accident  , I cant stand to even take a picture of it

sorry for the delay , I've been upset the whole day, I tell her all the time don't take my car out, if you need a car, I'll leave you the navigator, her reply
" no i'm not going anywhere. I swear it's like I knew it was going to happen:mad: not 30 min after I get on post ( I am a federal security officer ) my son calls me
and tells me , mom crashed!! I just knew it was bad....:( well here it is. trying to post pics. it's torture just looking at the pics.. the chasse isn't damaged but DAM! DAM! DAM!

SHE CLAIMS the steering wheel got stuck, HA!! I drove that car home perfect!

Looks more like her foot got stuck and the car got sideways. A better excuse would be the throttle got stuck. If it was a stuck column the damage would be in the front of the car. That damage is from the car sliding into something or something sliding into it. If it was me I'd have my foot stuck up her arse. Sorry for your loss.

I lost the front off one of my Buicks a month ago. I feel your pain. I still go out and look at mine with no front end. I stand there and ask "WHY"!!!

trust me I wanted too plant my foot in her, she hit a parked car luckily no one was inside. I agree it looks like the car went side ways on her or she turned to close , the car she hit was at the curb, I'm still pissed, I dropped the car off at the body shop yesterday , and I had to pay another $800 for the car she hit a ( a issuzu rodeo ) which doesn't look that bad at all. Well I was told it can be repaired, its not as bad as you think, ( I thought it was over ) I told her she will never even see the keys to that car again! unbelievable, thanks for your sympathies guys, blackgn1 I hope you get your car on the road soon , I feel your pain, I must have stood there for at least 1 hour before I got
my mind in gear. Now I cant wait to get it back. these are the pics of the car she hit.

Sorry to see this and I cant believe their going to fix that. Hope you had good insurance since I wouldn't want to see the bill for that repair. If it was mine I think I would be looking for a donor to swap the drivetrain into. Check Craigslist there was a GN rolling chassis in your area for $1000 couple days ago. Either way I hope it all works out in the end and hope to see you out at tower shops car show again sometime soon.

Anything can be fixed. The way that roof is creased does not look good. How are all the body seams on other side of car. Gaps between door and front fender and rear quarter. I would see what the insurance will pay and then look for another body and do some swapping.time for a frame off resto. There are some clean bodies for cheap out there. good luck
