What part broke? The plastic tube with the spring and wire, or the piece that it locks into? If it's the piece behind the lock plate they are common to break and are available in the Help/Motormite section of most part stores. It is called a Canceling Cam.

The canceling cam is what you need. The steering wheel has to come off. The cam is under the steel lock plate thats under the steering wheel. They make a tool that will compress the lock plate so you can get the clip that retains it out.Once the clip is removed you can remove the compressing tool and remove steel plate and canceling cam and reinstall . The part is cheap like stated above they are available at Napa/zone etc.

Sounds like you broke your horn wire loose. By 'the tip', do you mean the little tit that sticks out the side and locks the wire into the pipe that holds the wire?

Here ya go!

Yep, the wheel has to come off to replace that piece. I'd get one first though. The Oreillys pages shows it as unavailable.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like there's enough of the tube left to lock he wire in place. Or did it break all the way down to the locking slot?

Yep. Remove the clip above the nut, then the nut. Use a bolt grip puller or sometimes you can just wiggle the wheel off. Then press down on the metal lock plate, easier with the correct release tool but can be done without. And remove the c-clip with 2 picks. Cam is underneath. Lock plate and steering wheel only go on one way so watch the splines

I don't know the correct name, but I'd call it a Lock plate release tool? I bought 1 from Sears and I have another steering wheel kit from Advance Auto that has the puller and the lock plate tool
