Column loose??

I just looked at the GnTTYPE directions for tilt column repair and see ITEM #2 is NOT CORRECT!! As I recall, the "plastic cover" does NOT get "pried off". It gets the screws removed. Pry it and it's JUNK!!! RIGHT OR WRONG???
