I posted a thread a few weeks ago about a front-end clunk and pull to the left. The advise I got (which was good by the way) was to replace the upper control arm bushings on the passenger side. Well, that cured the pull to the left, but I still get the clunk and it still feels like the left front tire is moving. So I had somebody else drive forward slowly and put on the brakes. The left front tire does move! It clunks and kicks out. Is this the lower ball joint? Upper? It's easy to see how to replace the upper--you cut or grind off the rivets the pull it out. I don't see any rivets on the bottom. Does it get pressed out?

Have you checked your wheel bearings? Also the tie rod ends?
The bottom ball joint presses in and out or if you like a good whack w/a large ball peen does the job too.

Tie rod end.

Mine did that for about a year when I forgot to grease the front end for a long time.

Ended up popping off on me too. Not fun but easy to replace even 30 miles from home. :)

Car been greased lately?

How can you tell what it is, that's the question. I jacked it up, and put a jack under the lower a-arm to take the pressure off, then have someone turn the wheel. No visible flex in any of the ball joints, tie rod end included. I guess I can just start replacing things...
