To answer that question you'd have to know how you'd feel with Saddam and the Taliban still in power.

If other terrorist attacks have been prevented by virtue of what Dubya has accomplished, how could you know?

We are better off with the Taliban and Saddam gone, no doubt about it.

The Taliban was no threat at all to America. In fact, they were an alie before 9-11. The only thing they did is refuse to turn over Osama to us, partly because he was a national hero in the Soviet/Afgan War. As for Saddam, that's a whole other arguement. Is he a dictator that should be killed? Yes. Was he a direct threat to the US? No.

I voted for Bush (although I wanted Buchanan), but my opinion of Bush has gotten less favorable. He's making a case for wars we don't need, trampling out rights and freedoms with the Patriot Act, apologizing for slavery, and never met an Israeli ass he didn't like to kiss. Sorry, but I hate neo-conservatives, as they are almost as bad as liberals. With that being said, I will vote for him again next year, because there is no far-right alternative running against him with any chance at all. So I'm holding my nose and voting Bush in '04.

The Taliban provided a safe harbor for terrorists. Even Clinton lobbed cruise missiles at them. The problem was our pre 9/11 doctrine was "throw money at states that harbor terrorism and maybe they will go away".

We figured it actually cost less to give North Korea, Afghanistan, Syria, Yasser Arafat, etc. LARGE somes of money than it would to go over and kick their @sses. Don't confuse giving somebody "Protection Money" with being your friend :)

Then 9/11 happened. If 19 guys could cause Hundreds of Billions of economic damage to us (and we were still paying protection money to the above thugs) we needed a new plan.

The Bush Doctrine is to take it to the terrorists. It's more expensive in the short term, but its a lot cheaper in the long run. Only one of the Democrat candidates understands this and thats Joe Lieberman. He has no chance of being elected President, though, because he isn't like the other 10 candidates that are telling Liberals what they want to hear: "Do the OPPOSITE of everything Bush is doing and this country will be like it was when Clinton was President".

Not only is their huge support for Bush in the middle of the country, there is ZERO support for any of his challengers. The Hillary/Wesley team has the best shot of winning the White House, and they would still loose in middle america by double digits.

I have a Commander and Chief that has bought back pride in serving in the Military again. I would vote for him again!

Hell, I voted for Perot

then you actually voted for clinton.if that little assswipe hadn't split the vote bush sr would have been re-elected.instead we got 8 years of clinton:mad:

Just like with any business you can't repair 10 bad years in 3 short years. I say 10 cause even though it wasn't his fault (G.H.W. Bush) the economy was on a decline. It always slows down after an immediate buildup for a conflict. One interesting note is that taxes actually increased under Clinton however the defense budget and subsequent cuts in the personnel needed in the armed forces dwindled. So my question is "where did the money go to?"

There are many that say if it weren't for Clinton the market and economy wouldn't have rebounded and soared the way it did. My opinion is that's bull****. Anyone that thinks the economy can perform a 180* and a full on charge within a year(approx. when the economy erupted circa 1993) of a new president taking office is rediculous. I was in the military the first few months Clinton was there and it grew harsh with each month. No money to train,8 man teams became 5 man teams, no money to lure new recruits, no money for reenlistment bonuses. Now you have problems of being spread to thin. Of the active divisions that I still know of most if not all are deployed.

1st ID: Kosovo/Iraq
1st AD: Bosnia/Iraq/Afghan.
2nd ID: Korea(still a deployment per say)
4th ID : Iraq
10th MTN DIV : Afghan/iraq
82nd & 101st AIRBORNE: Iraq & Afghan.
25th ID : (don't know of deployment staus)

Just a few not to mention the divisions Clinton disbanded.

2nd AD
3rd ID
3rd AD
70% of the military might of this country is reservists.

Comes down to the bottom line. Where do you want your taxes going to? People who refuse to help themselves, programs for rehabilitation, low income housing, raises for govt employees(SEN. & REP.'s), and loans to foreign countries. OR the buildup of a military force and intelligence research to protect us in the event we are attacked. I don't know about everyone else, but I would like my hide protected a little for the 20K I give the govt. in taxes each year. Maybe this time 2 years from now when Republicans control the Senate,House, and White House for a long period of time things may be different. The democaratic movement is slowly dwindling and thank the heavans it's about time. I'm tired of hearing how the rich get tax breaks and lean on the poor and middle class to contribute the most to this country. I got some news for everyone . If you make over $65,000 for your household income you are the people theses Democrats want to tax.

Sorry just had to vent, I looked at my lastest check :)
