Stock 85 Max Boost Setting

WHAT IS THE STOCK 85 GN MAX TURBO BOOST SETTING?

ALSO, WHAT IS A SAFE INCREASE WITH 30LBS INJECTORS', HIGH FLOW HEADERS& EXHAUST, HOT WIRED NEW GM FUEL PUMP.

Mine was at 12.5psi but don't know if that's stock or not. Both me and my dad were able to run 17 psi, actually he ran 19psi with no knock nearly bone stock.

I guess the only way to find out is to hook up a scan tool and start turning up the boost until it knocks.

Hi Brad,

Haven't talked to you in a while. As fo your questions, 12-13 # stock. 15# should be ok on pump gas, 17# would be pushing it, but all of the tr's seem to act differently. Definitely get a scan tool before you turn up the boost, then go in small increments and make sure you do not have any knock.

Bryan- Is the scan tool hard to work with? I am not a mechanic as evidenced by the fact that I blew up my engine last April. I tried to reduce the boost on the engine without a real boost gage-I went the wrong way with the adj waste gate actuator.

I am having a real boost gage and tach put on next week as well as other parts. Check out my final post under thread-I do I get my car into the 13's. This is my goal as well. Please e-mail me with you input. Am I on the right track? I am also trying to sign up for the dyno test on the 17th. Thanks- Brad
