I'm thinking of making a turbo kit for my GTP, and was thinking a stock 86-87 turbo would suffice. I'm only planning on running low 13's to high 12's. Think this turbo would be up for it on a series 2 engine? I will have ported exhaust manifolds, Powrtuner (program for tuning my own pcm), and will be making a 3" downpipe into my 2.25" dynomax cat back. I know this turbo goes 12's EASY on a GN...just not sure how it's going to react with my car. I also probably won't be adding an intercooler. I have a stock one off a turbo coupe thunderbird (I think that's where it came from), but it's kinda small...might help though. Another question is where could I get adapters for the turbo? I will be making my own pipes (I have a pipe bender that can go to 3"...but it's not mandrel bent) but need the adapters to weld onto them so I can bolt up the turbo. Any help is appreciated like always!

the intercooler would make it ALOT easier to reach your goal with a stock turbo(or any turbo) if you can find room for it.

While it will make it easier I have also been known to throw together alcohol kits on the side ;) Now alcohol AND intercooler would be a pretty sweet combo though. I'll have to see when I start ripping it apart what to do.

I just remember Bruce talking about an experiement a while back where he replaced his intercooler w/ just alky and he was great for the 1/8th, but he said he was getting knock by the end of the 1/4. I wish I had alky :(
