I finished my 87 conversion on my 85 GN a few months ago and havent driven the car much till recently and realized that the stock electric fan is running at all times with the car running and does not turn off. Is that the way they work on the 87's or should it turn its self on and off? If it is supposed to turn off do you think its a bad relay? The temp switch is new so I dont think it would be that? Any help is appreciated.

Try unplugging the fan delay relay. You dont need it and it will fail and kill your battery in the middle of the nite anyway. I had the problem on a friends car too.

Which relay is that, and also if thats the cause will it solve the problem of the fan always running? The reason being that with my aluminum radiator and the fan running all the time with it coming to winter my temps arent even getting above 180 at all so Im trying to get it to warm up a bit more.
