With the term "stock appearing" in regards to a turbo......
The TE's and TA's...

Is this just in reference fully of the APPEARANCE, as in keeping a bone stock looking engine bay for example?

And/Or does it mean that it's that it's not a direct bolt in??

Go to the Turbo forum section and read the stickies. Lots of info there.

TA = stock appearing
TE = not stock appearing

Doesn't have anything to do with not being a bolt-on though. That mainly has to do with what type of header flange you have (i.e.-3 bolt vs. 4 bolt). 99% of us have a 3 bolt flange.

TA is like a stock turbo, meaning it has a bolt on intake bell. The TE series is a one piece turbo/inlet, and is not stock appearing.
