has anyone broke there stock axles and if so what times where you running, i plan on running mid-high 11s should i invrest????

Mid 11s

High to mid 11s you should be fine. Of course a 16 second car can break an axle. The TR axles seem to hold up pretty well. I wouldn't worry about it. Spend your money and time somewhere else. HTH>

Axles

I have a 87 T-type runs high 11s and i broke a axle using a trans BRAKE. I also have a 9 sec 87 GN that ran on stock axles for years, but it broke this year. I would suggest putting in a set of MOSER axles at least, play it safe! If interested in a set contact us at www.aggressiveauto.com or (586)771-9122

I broke an axle this past season...my first 5 PSI launch and she snapped right at the spline. soft launch (idle) 2.0 60ft, 1/8 mile time was 8.0 @ 95 on drag radials...never got to see what it did with some boost off the line (axle broke!)

Every one said the stocker should be fine but, it obviously wasn't in mine. I didn't want to chance it again...I went with Mark Williams Axles and c-clip eliminators. It's a nicer setup than the Moser and the same price as well.

I put Moser axles in after I saw a friend's high 11's GN break an axle at the line. I didn't put C-clip eliminators in and hope that wasn't a mistake.

Zam,

Have you had a chance to get some street miles since the r&r? Just wondering how it's been doing as far as leaks with the Mark Williams C-clip eliminators.

Tyvm,
Tom

tminer - I haven't put many miles on them yet BUT, I can tell you just by the design (and my install) they shouldn't leak at all (at least at the axle tubes)
It's a very good design that utilizes O ring seals instead of gaskets.
