Hello, quick question what's the stall speed in our stock convertors?

do you think I can get away with installing a TE-44 without changing out the convertor?

Yes but,

Yup, just get Rjc boost controller and it'll be fine

I would call it "fine" but not ideal. With a garret exhaust housing, itd probably be better, but with a precision housing, it'll be a little laggy. You may have a loose D5 though and if it stalls to 2400 @ 0-1psi, you'll be good. With a 2700 stall, it spools instantly! :D

Yup ideally I agree, mine spools fine...would love a stall but hey...you can beat the crap out of the D5

If you have Eric burn a chip for your EXACT combination...and you make a balls out run on the default chip settings...you'll likely note on PL that low gear fueling is pig rich. Pull some fuel outta low gear and add some low gear timing...and watch how fast it spools. Make sure you have a Garret .63 exhaust housing if you go with the 44.
