Stock front wheel studs / installation?

Are the GN stock front wheel studs anything special or can I go to NAPA or any other parts house to buy them?

What does it take to install these, simple hand tools?? Thanks

nothing special- as far as studs are concerned, your car is just another G body..
as to how to remove and install them- they make tools to do it, but all you need is a real hammer and the ability to not swing it like a girl to get the old ones out.. then to install the new ones, you just slide them in from the back and put a 1/2" washer with a dab of grease on it and an old lug nut installed flipped around so the flat side is against the washer... then you just tighten it up until the stud is seated- it takes about 5 seconds with an impact wrench, forever with a ratchet or breaker bar...
 
Make sure the rotor is off the car when you hit the studs with that hammer. If you do it on the car, the shock load will be transmitted right through the bearings. If you smack it hard enough, the rollers in the bearings will dent (brinell) the raceways, and they will wear out and make noise very soon thereafter.

you will only hurt the bearings if you hit the rotor itself.. if you hit the studs and don't swing the hammer like a girl, all the force will be used to push the studs out and won't hurt anything else..
but you may or may not be able to even get behind the rotor to get the old studs out and the new studs in, so the rotor probably has to come off, anyways..
 
Would a pneumatic hammer work better? I would probably have to find a special adapter to go against the stud right?

I'd pull the rotors. When was the last repack/inspection? They probably need new seals anyway.

a good old fashioned "hunk of steel attached to a wooden handle" hammer gets the job done pretty easily... you just gotta not swing it like a 5 year old girl.
and the only "adapter" you'll need is a punch if the stud is broken off flush with the surface of the rotor. other wise just aim at the end of the stud and hit that sucker like it owes you money.
