At what point will I have exceeded the efficiency of the factory intercooler with stock 2" inlet neck?

I'm currently running about 22 - 24psi out of my TA-48 with 0-4* knock and about 760 - 790 on my O2s. This was achieved with 18* of timing, an SMC alky kit @ 3/4 pump speed and an RJC power plate.

If I upgrade to a CAS V4 stock mount will I realize the benefits right away with a TA-48 turbo? And if so will the efficiency of the CAS V4 allow me another 1-2 # of boost?

Basically is it worth the extra coin! For the gain.

Thanks.

At 21 psi I noticed a 2 psi gain switching to a 2.5" neck on the stock intercooler. The V4 core is more efficient also and could result in additional psi reduction of a psi or so.

Less "lost pressure is one advantage of a V4, another is a larger heat transfer core so the cooling charge temp will be reduced further. On cool days with a cool stock intercooler, at the track, the gains with a V4 will be less than on the street on a hot day, where the V4 will reduce intake temps more efficiently than the stocker and be more resistant to heat soak.

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like I will try the 2.5" neck first. Up here in the NW it stays pretty cool most of the year. I'll spend my money on suspension mods instead.

Thanks again ;)
