Does anyone know what the stock radio illumination color is supposed to be?

I have some 86 TR's and have seen both colors Green and Orange.

Where they both available or is there a reason for the variation?

Just Curious.

belive it or not both colors is correct....even with the green cluster illumination, doest make sense...

the easiest way i can explain is ; nicer stereos have green illum,,,,,cheaper radios had orange illum......yes my T came with the orange illum:mad:

Interestingly enough it doesn't seem to matter. My car came with the high end AF/FM Stereo, EQ tape with auto reverse. It was orange from the factory. When I bought a replacement for the same stereo it was blue.

wow, anything is possible.you'll notice the extra mounting places on the stereos...a delco stereo could just about fit any gm vehicle of the era just by swaping the brackets...

Good Info. I have both colors that's why I was asking...

The CSII with the equalizer is green and the basic am/fm cassette is orange.

I also have a digital dash car but cannot recall if the illumination is green or orange?

I was just curious since it seemed to be an odd discrepancy...

Thanks for the responses.

Just to add to what the others said, I ordered a '86 T-Type in the fall of '85 and that radio had the amber numbers. The other TRs I have owned have been '87s which have all had the green (teal) colored numbers.
