Stock shifter removal

Stupid question here guys, but I don't want to break anything. I need to replace the gear indicator plate in my gn, how do I remove the stock shifter handle? TIA

there is a clip on the right hand side of the shifter itself. sit in the passengers seat and take a pear of pliers and just pull that clip out towards u and it will just pop right off.

Thanks man, I saw that little clip and assumed that had something to do with it, but like I said didn't want to tear something up like I usually do. Thanks again!

yup i thought the same thing but i finally just said o well and yanked it out and thank god it was right because those shifter handles can b pretty expensive nowadays.
