Stock tach pegged all the time

Does anyone know what's going on with my in dash factory tach, it's always redlined ? Thanks.

Take your foot off the gas!!!! It will come down.

There are two wires behind the alternator, one has a green connector on it, make sure it is unplugged.

The LED's each have a separate frequency which turns them on. As RPM increases the computer sends the frequencies and the corresponding LED's light up. After over twenty years they lose some of their ability to only sense their specific signal, and when one lights up, the one next to it does too because of the closeness in frequency. This can cause a chain reaction which is what often times causes the problem you're describing.
