I have a stock turbo with a 3 inch down pipe and at times you can hold the brake and it wont spool up. The y restrictor in the hosing to the turbo is new. It has a adjustable actuator. I also have a 2 1/2 inch neck on the stock intercooler, 36lb injectors with a turbo tweak chip. Does anyone know why at times it wont spool up? Thanks Guys, Mike

Yes, it is hooked up correctly. It doesnt do it all the time, most of the time it spools up fast. Sometimes you can hold the brake and just about floor the car and the boost wont go to about 8 lbs, the other times you can barely touch the gas pedal and it lights the tires and the boost goes up quickly. Thanks

my guess is the wastegate puck is sticking open..

unhook the wastegate and move the flapper by hand to check for free movement

When you hooked the wastegate rod back up to the wastegate, did you have to pull the rod about 1/8" to keep enough pressure on the wastegate.

Just installed a new 3 inch dp with internal wastegate. Thanks

doesnt mean squat!!!! check it again. it could be coming back and be misaligned. if that isnt it then could be tuning watch you blms an 02's at idle when this happens you could be rich

This problem was happening with the stock dp. And I will have to wait until this weekend before I pull it back out. How can you tell if it mis-aligned. At wot the o2's are 760 and with no knock. Do you have anymore suggestions?? Thanks Guys for all of the help, I need it. Mike

bypass the stock wastegate solenoid and try running it tuner style.

If you want to hook it "tuner style" run a vacuum line off the turbo and hook it straight to the wastegate.

Will it be ok to leave it like that, if that corrects the problem. If it does not fix the problem, what else could it be? Thanks for all the help, Mike
