Ok, I took apart most of my turbo tonight and from what it appears, its in pretty rough shape. The propeller on the intake side is wore down pretty bad and theres about a 1\8" of end play (side to side). I can't get the exhaust snail off, its pretty much either rusted on. There is a ton of oil going through the exhaust side, which caused my smoking exhuast pipes (thank god it wasn't the engine). Anyways, my question is, how much does it cost to rebuild one of these things, and is it even worth it cause this one appears to be in pretty bad shape. I am goin to get a gt 3255e sooner or later and it looks like its gonna be sooner, but the funds are quite there yet. Thanks!

Your turbo sounds real rough. The cheapest way out (IMHO) would be to find a good stocker here on the boards.... You should be able to run across a good one in the $150-$200 range probably. Step up to the $300-$400 range.... you might find a decent used TE44 or a TA49..... both excellent replacements....both can carry a nearly stock car into the 11's on race gas and 25 psi boost if properly tuned.
