Stock turbo rebuild

I am getting ready to rebuild my stock turbo. I have the rebuild kit from G-Pop Shop with the instructions. Just wondering if anybody has any tips or advise before I dive into this?

Get it cermaic coated while you have it appart.

When you take it apart mark everything so it can be aligned. I would have it balanced before you assemble it again just to make sure there are no issues though.

Thanks for the replies. The turbo is apart and everything looks pretty good except for the pooling of oil in the compressor housing which would be the reason for the rebuild. I think I will have it balanced though. Where should I send it?? I know G-Pop Shop does it but does anybody else?

Several places can balance it for you. One of them is a member on here. I'll PM you his info. I called Reed about balancing mine and to assemble it with my parts he said about $100. He'll talk your ear off about turbos if you let him.:biggrin:
