Hello everyone
Ive got a question, I was wondering if anyone has a diagram of how the stock wastegate / bleeder valve boost control should be hooked up

I have one thats was pre-existing on my car and i am continually overboosting and i would like to make sure it is all installed properly

I have tried turning the wastegate rod and it makes no difference

Thanks in advance everyone

Rich

There is a restriction in the "y" connector. The leg with the restriction is connected to the turbo compressor. The opposite end of that leg connects to the solenoid (and maybe a stepdown elbow between). The angled leg of the "y" connects to the wastegate solenoid.

In an overboost situation, I'd first suspect the rod is too tight, or the vac lines have a leak. Improper orientation of the "y" will not overboost. The purpose of the restriction is to have smooth operation of the wastegate and keep it from opening too fast, or surging. (I think)

You might have a Heavy Duty 18# actuator instead of a stock 13# one. Set it up "Tuner Style by running a vac line straight from the compressor housing to the actuator and see how much boost you get. It won't spool real fast this way, but its only temporary to see what boost you get, that will give you an indication of the actuator setting...make the rod just long enough to fit on the puck arm if its adjustable, that will be the "min" setting you can have it.
Another reason could be you have a free flowing DP, and the WG hole int he exhaust housing needs to be opened up a bit...this requires machining the hole out some.
