I have had my car parked for several months now. I have a SMC kit. I still have about a 1/2 tank of alcohol left in the tank. Is this OK as the car will sit a couple more months. Or should I go ahead and empty the tank. I've heard of the pump drying out if it sits empty????
What should I do?
Thanks...George

Double edge sword. If you leave the tank full.. then the pump is sitting in alcohol. If you empty it.. then it can rust.

I would say leave it full. One thing you can do and wont hurt, is to drain/empty the tank and have ATF/Mystery Oil/lite machine oil pumped through it.. and leave the pump with a good coating of oil.

A procedure like running ATF through the pump is what was recommended before shipping used kits long ago.

All else, contact Steve at SMC for his opinion as he's not on the boards.
