Strange noise from converter/front of trans

I am getting a noise from the converter / front of trans when the engine is running. Sounds like loose rocker arms or a loud typewriter. The noise goes away when the converter is unbolted from the flexplate. Its a 3200 9/11 converter.
Has anyone encountered this noise?

Cracked flexplate?

Checked that, and it's not a knocking noise like a cracked flexplate. More of a loud clicking.
