I was wandering what the difference is for a steel stroker crank for a 109 and a Stage II I wanted to put a 3.59 BRC crank that I have, in my 109 block but the guy at my machinist said it would not work is this true? If it is what do you run? Thanks,
Jay

They are one in the same. The only way to know if its going to work is to actually mock up the block and crank to be used and check for interference.

One is prolly a narrow-journal piece and the other a wide-journal unit...but they both fit a 109 block. However, with a 3.59 stroker you'll prolly need to go to an external oil pickup as I've heard that you have to machine the factory oil pump pickup boss off the block for clearance. So I've been told.

Would think your stroker crank in internal balanced, so that means different harmonic balancer and flexplate.

Yea he told me that it would be an interference problem with the oil p/u, it is a wide journal crank. I guess I will just mock it up and see the clearance issues that it has. Nick as far as the Balancer and flexplate issues I was going to change them if I stay with the stock crank or put in my steel crank b/c of the tech insp in my area are complaining about running 10's without being SFI approved. Thanks for the info,
Jay ;)
