Pulling the engine last on my street car last night and ran into a problem. Unbolted the converter bolts but the converter (CPT) nose seems to be stuck/wedged in the crank as it won't push back or spin freely. I've even resorted to taking a pry bar to it but it won't budge. It's like it's bound up but it was like this before I even unbolted the bellhousing. I've wiggled and shaken the trans in every direction trying to free it but nothing works.
I'm about to just move the trans back as far as I can to get the input shaft disengaged from the converter and go from there. The converter felt a little tighter than what I'm used to when I installed it but it did turn with a little resistance. Should have known .................... I've pulled a wholelotta trannys in my day but I've never had one stuck like this one.
Any of you tranny gurus got any ideas - I don't want to damage the input shaft or the converter???????????????
