stupid air box question

I can't get my stock airbox open to change the filter. Anyone got any advice or tricks?

Did you remove the elbow and the nut holding the cap down? If so give it a wack with a rubber mallet. Disconnect the mas air from the housing before hitting it.

Most of the guys have replaced the OEM filter & probably forgot how it comes apart, including me. If I recall correctly you can remove the elbow like previously mentioned & take it apart that way. I think the bolt goes through to the bottom of the filter & you can feel it if you reach underneath the filter.

It has a long bolt going though the filter. I'f I remember right you can access it from the bottom of the housing.
