Is it true that the hot air cars spool up quicker than the intercooled cars?

Is it true that the hot air cars spool up quicker than the intercooled cars?

I belief this to be a difficult thing to "measure" for comparison sake.

As the previous post says, not only that depends on the turbo and size how fast it will spool....

I will stick my head on the block and say ?YES! The Hot Air system is less restrictive, thus will spool quicker.... A friend of mine race our cars: mine 85 T-Type...few mods and a 86 GN...exhuast. Both had chips..tuned TPS... K&N filter...fuel pumps and adjustable reg...17lbs of boost... MyT-Type was consistently quicker until the top of first gear and beginning of second... I could beat him out of the hole..by second we were even.... at the top of second.... INTERCOOLED power took over.... by a car...maybe a car and a half... For kicks... I installed a 75 shot of NOS... and I hit at the top of second gear and I blew by him by two whole cars...Oops... I also forgot to tell him about the NOS... He came back by scratching his head... After a quick cool down... we went again and this time I sprayed off idle... and got him two cars and kept him off two...Finally I told him I hooked up the NOS... :biggrin:

Next time we met us to "PLAY" ... He told me to turn on the NOS... I was stunned Only because he turned on his
75hp... got me by a full car... maybe car and a half... to sum it up.. his INTERCOOLER....

got to say if u intercool your car spool will be a bit slower than a intercooled car obvioulsy becouse of the headers and turbo position but if ur not intercooled than it should be a bit faster less pipe for the air to travel but my car still spooled pretty fast. just get a big turbo big stall and dont worry bout it
