Please refresh my memory, on my 84 t-type where the factory up pipe connects to the turbo, there is that metal "gasket" w/ the 3 ears, that has one flat side and the other contoured to fit the up pipe, isnt there also a gasket of some sort that goes there too, b/c i cant get it to seal off, i took the turbo off to inspect it some time back, but cant remember if there was another gasket that went in there, cant get it to all line up and seal off. Arrggh! any help would be appreciated

There is no gasket there other than the metal.I had that problem before, here is how I fixed it.Look at both mating surfaces, they were machined flat, make sure they still are.Take a piece of sandpaper 260-320 grit and lay it on an old piece of glass or something really flat and run the flange gasket thing on it back and forth a few times. You will be able to see any low or high spots right away.If it is the flange on the turbo forget getting anything abrasive anywhere near there.Just scrape it with a razor blade to make sure it is clean. Then you can coat mating surfaces with a little neverseize(high temp of course) and the bolts(this will help you get it tighter without stressing the threads as much). This also works on the ball part where the up-pipe meets the flange. Here I had to mildly grind~sand the pipe itself to get it to seal.OR you could just weld it all on! j/k:D good luck, let us know how you do.
