Stupid question

I know this is a stupid question but I have a Bruce Tolle trans pan I got from a friend to install on my car and in the bag of hardware is this brass fitting. Can anyone tell me where it goes? Thanks

Was it a sealed bag? You do not need such a piece to replace the trans pan. That I know of. Is there a spot for a temp sensor?

That looks like the fitting that goes into the side of the trans to check pressures. It gets hooked up to the hose leading to the pressure gauge. That fitting gets removed and a regular pipe plug goes into the hole when pressure checking is complete.

This looks just like one of the fittings I got with my pressure test gauge .

That fitting goes in the valve body where the two three gear switch is. I have one in my trans, it angles the switch 90* so it won't contact the pan when installed.
