I was at the detroit auto show studying intercoolers.
I think everyone would agree that w/out an intercooler and the typical mods a hot air car is capable of 13seconds.

That tells me to go low 12s just a little intercoolering is needed.

Why not tilt the compressor housing and put a little liquid/air intercooler right on the turbo outlet (mabey 2" of pipe) then go back to the intake. It would take mabey 8" of hose total. This is how subura does it. The intercooler would be right on top of the
intake.

I have a feeling that you are talking about the WRX set up....remember something....

On the WRX there is a hood scoop..the scoop brings in air from the outside, and it goes thru the intercooler to cool the air inside it...

If someone was going to put an IC on top of the intake then it would have no way of getting cool with the stock hood..you would need some sort of Ram-Air hood.......IMO..its not worth the trouble...keep it infront of the motor so that cold air can blow through it!

I don't think it would help due to the heat generated under the hood.
It would just heat soak, which is the prob with a non I/C car.
I/C needs to be in the cool air or liquid cooled to work effectively on thes cars.
Just my opinion, since your asking. Someone might think different.
