Just seeing if anyone can recommend them (or not) for general auto repair? My mom is new to the phoenix area has an 01 vw Jetta that needs some front end work. A basic search came up with good reviews but wanted to ask here.. I'm on the east coast, tia

Sun Devil is a chain of stores in AZ. Not sure if individual franchises or corporate owned.

The one by me, at 7th Street and Bethany Home Road, has a pretty good neighborhood reputation.

For an independent shop I recommend Black Canyon Automotive @ I-17 and Dunlap (602) 995-7030. Bill Snee is the owner, he's a good man. Many of my friends use him. He's been at that same location for 20 years or so now.

My dad introduced us. Bill and his dad were on my dad's bowling team.

Bill did an engine refresh and hand worked the heads on my 86 GN back in '92.

He took a stock car, used a Spearco Intercooler, an Eastern Performance chip, one of EP's mild cams, and a TransGo shift kit. His work put the car in the 12.60's with me doing 1.80 60ft times.

He's built a great reputation as an all around mechanic and his son, who works with him, is too.

And if you want to build a serious drag boat, well then ,Bill is your man.
