After installing Razor's kit and Eric's chip...I figured I would have some dialing in to do to get the PAC kit settings right. Holy cow the out of the box settings work smoothly. You can hear when the meth. is injected but it's VERY smooth. This combo is awesome. I'm at 23psi working my way up to 25 step by step. That's all I'm having to do though is simply turn the boost up. LOL...I just wanted to say thanks to Razor and Eric Marshall. I'll post pics of the install on Cardomain eventually. I had to modify the exit of the tank to clear the large Kinetik battery. Just a brass extension though.

oh...my question...add boost as long as there is no knock? my base fuel is 93 oct. Eric's chip says 25psi...

Yup.. watch that knock. make sure the knock sensor is working :D If its a functional knock guage.. and you get no knock.. let er rip.

Yes on the easy. Its suppossed to work like this out of the box.

Thanks for the thumbs up :D

afr for the wideband?
I'm at 23 psi right now with zero knock and low 800s on the narrowband.
The car would knock above 17 psi before. Knock sensor should .2 on a hard shift once or twice...that's it now that it's an alcoholic.

Great starting point is 10.8:1 from there tweak up or down as power increases.

I backed it off to 25 in first and 23 in 2nd and 3rd. That puts my SM reading 790ish on the narrowband. I'll hook up my wideband before going any further. The car drives absolutely great. Thanks again!

just thought I'd resurrect...getting it ready for a trip to the track on the 21st. I'm at 10:7-9 (freaking thing jitters the number back and forth...may as well say 10:8) with the boost set at 23psi. The bigger TB and plenum leaned it out from 10:6...not a big difference.
So...I'm going to 25psi tomorrow...I'll post back AFR. This is with pure 93 octane off the pump and uncut M1 in the kit. New plugs (CR43TS) gapped at .32. No smoking, bucking, snorting, or knocking. At 23 psi...I had fun with a GSXR750 today. Even through 2nd...I barely pulled on him in third into fourth. Who says you can't run a Buick from a roll. LOL. Maybe the gixxer couldn't drive...kills a kill.
This thing is clean...it's leaving very little soot even on the WB sensor 12" after the turbo. Plugs look great.

So this deserves a question. At what point will the cylinder pressure rise so high that it will lift the head? 25psi is a ton of boost.

there's guys on here if you search that have seen 30psi on stock headgaskets. There's been guys only see 27 or so and them let go as well. I for one don't want to go past 25. My car has just under 124K miles.

its not the PSI that pops that lifts the heads...it the detonation...that occurs...that increses that PSI to the point of lifting head/blowing out gasket...you can pop them at 14psi with a bad tune....

I had pretty much the same experience. I ran 24-25psi right out of the box without any tuning or knock. I'll creep it up a little bit more this season and see what happens :D

I have a customer 2nd screw on his 30 PSi autometer guage. Stock head gaskets TE45 turbo(66MM)

Remember.. candle that burns soooo bright.. doesnt burn for long :D

I just keep ol' Ken Mosher's advice echoing in my head.....don't push the stock-type head gaskets past 21psi. I run Razor's kit also.

Mike, I think most of us that have raced with the OEM gaskets have seen way higher boost. The stockers are virtually indestructible... but.. once that factory "seal" goes.. then its a whole other game. Meaning once you take the heads off the car.. and replace the gaskets, game changes and the slightest mistake takes it out. There are lots of TR's in the upper 10's and lower 11's with factory un-opened engines. Some(few) have been even faster. To achieve this level of power.. trust me.. takes upwards of 30 PSI.

My greatest success setting up customer cars is boost in the lower 20's.. cars live at this level forever as long as they dont have any knock. That 25+ PSI level over extended periods of time will create an issue. And it just depends on how much beating it takes. An occassional 25 PSI is not the same as someone who is a track rat and beats on the car multiple times a day, multiple times a week :D But at that level, hey.. you play.. you gotta pay ;)

I've been told anything over 26 PSI on a stock bottom end is pushing the limits.....
