you think 5658s are too stiff for the front? and how bout 5409s for the rear?

I put 5660s in my car this winter and for a MCSS it supposed to drop the car 0-1". They are also a little stiffer than I would like at 640 lb/in. They also didn't settle much at all, I guess due to the lighter TR front end. My car is almost higher in the front than in the rear.

I have been thinking of switching to the 5658s instead.

Our old design cars certainly rattle more as spring stiffness goes up. I personally prefer lower stiffness springs with stiffer roll bars. I thought the 5660's would be fine since the stock springs were so mushy. I can't imagine what the 5664s ride like that some guys use.

Make sure you increase rear spring stiffness an equal percentage as the front unless you are intentionally trying to adjust under or oversteer.

No, I dont have understeer or oversteer problems...I was thinking about getting A-body 5409s for the rear....they seem like they will drop the rear some also. But I will probaly have to trim the fronts b/c of the light v6.....As far as swaybars and other suspension stuff goes, I don't need any upgrades. Im running a stock v6 (slow).......I considered putting a turbo in the hopes of being a GN in disguise...but it's not as easy as it sounds. and I'm running a carb not FI.

Just try cutting a loop of the 5660s.
Ya, they are a bit too firm on rough roads, but damn nice on the highways. Mine sits like this.

In 30+ years of fooling with things, I have yet to see any spring get installed and be perfect, first try.
Buy some that sound close, install em, and then figure out what you want to do. I was just showing one specific example. One loop on a 5658 might be too much, dunno.

What's in the front of your car then? If they are 5660s you must have cut them some. Mine sits way higher, not even a hint of a forward rake like that.

Like I said, I cut a loop off.
