Sway Bar Bushings ????

I just installed a 36mm F body front sway bar. I used Moog bushings, end links for a 92 Camaro and Regal bushing holders ( ??? ) . The problem is with the swaybar to frame bushings. When tightened the bushings squish. It's like the sway bar is too short to reach the end links. Did I use the wrong end links ?

I put that bar on my car, but used the links that came on the Buick. The F body links very well may be wrong. I used the stock Buick brackets, too, with the bushings from GM for the 36mm bar. The bushings did squish, I tightened them a little at a time over several days until the brackets pulled down flush.
