i'm putting this here to get some extra exposure.

ok, today i was out and saw a nice looking camaro at a dealership, i went in and took a look, cost too much but when i went in the showroom there was an excellent looking 91 syclone.

heres the deal on the car, 85k miles near perfect interior, over all straight body (straighter than would be expected with 80k) the paint is 7-8/10, factory paint what can you expect. underside of the car was incredibly clean, not so much as a spot of oil. no rust that i could find. asking price is $16k which i know is high, but its the end of the month and they are below quota, so they are willing to make a deal. i really think they will go for $12k.

my question is 1) whats a fair price? they are taking my car in on trade so the convience of that is worth some money to me. 2) what should i be looking for? as far as giving it the look around, when i'm driving it, etc.

also, does anyone know any production numbers?
any help is appreciated, like i said i'm looking at this car again tomorrow around mid-day so any info is greatly appreciated.

IMO 12k is a little high since the prices on sytys are in the crapper right now. Its hard to judge accurately without seeing it and what youre trading in though.

The production number is the last four digits of the VIN (only on syclones).

Clean underside at 80K miles means they put it up on a lift and steam cleaned it. I havent seen a GM product yet that didnt leak something  .

In my opinion value differs from person to person. My best friend just picked up a 92 Typhoon for $12,750. 60k miles. Very clean. We were searching for months to find one. We actually found 2 that were about 3hrs away. We drove both of them and decided on the one 92. What we realized, that although we may have found one cheaper at some point, is that we feel it was worth every penny because it was close by and in good shape. The other one we looked at looked great in the photos, but seeing it in person it was a rattle trap and very ragged out.

My point is that these trucks are hard to come by and if it is a clean tight truck then I would say snag it. His Ty (totaly stock not one upgrade) went 13.84 at the track a couple of weeks ago. They are a blast to drive. It is weird being able to drive full throtle everywhere even in the rain!!! Loads of fun! I want one now!:D

Good luck, I hope you get it!

P.S. - I picked up my wifes Formula in December. 168k from the origanal owner. Never opened up. Block is rusty because there are no oil leaks! LOL:D
