symptoms of bad convertor??

just curious as to waht some are i have a bad metal on metal clanging sound that sounds like it coming from the tranny and the noise is only there when i rev the car up high and let off or when im in park. if i in a gear just sitting there or just cruising the noise is not there i think its tranny related. thanks

I had a similar "CLINK" noise only when I would rev the motor off idle in PARK. Kris Kober at http://www.Turbotransam.com told me to check the Torque Converter to Flex Plate bolts. Sure enough, they were loose, barely. I removed them one at a time, wire brushed them, and re-installed with Blue Loctite. That was over a year and 20 runs at the track ago.
