what kinda noise does a bad turbo make? Usually when I drive my GN hard the turbo chokes/coughs and I thought it might be a bad coil pack...but yesterday I was messing wit a v6 auto mustang AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I PUT THE PETAL DOWN THE MUSTANG PULLED ON ME and then my car makes an extremely loud poping noise and the noise continues under any sort of acceleration or movement, it drives ok, idels a lil rough and isn't leaking any where..it still boosts but the popping noise becomes more rapid....I thought it might be a spark plug that became loose and blew out but when I checked they were all physcially there.

Popping can be a LOT of things.
Is it popping out the exhaust or intake?
Things to check,
Valve springs.
Grounds.
Anything ignition related (including plugs, and your gap).
If you have a Translater, make sure you have the switches set in the right place.
Signs of a bad turbo = shaft play and leaking seals.

poppin turbo
you might be overboosting do you have boost gauge if you do watch it and see how much boost its making when popping if you dont have one get one! check hoses going to wastegate solenoid that is probably biggest problem related to over boost also check fuel system sounds like lean pop if not overboosting check fuel pressure and volume also check for unmetered air leak in hose from turbo to mass air flow sensor common problem usually rips underneath! If possible monitor o2 voltage under boost at full throttle voltage should be almost 1 volt ! do your diagnosis in this order and you should find the problem dont just start replacing parts,that will get pricey you can e mail if you have any more questions @itflies2@yahoo.com hope this helps!

NOt me, I totally disagree about the bad turbo thing.
He stated that the car runs crappy at virtually any application of throttle! This generally indicated two possible culprits. Either a bad ignition module/coil or bad MAF.
